EPC Dinner Meet - 20th May 2023
Greetings fellow Design Enthusiasts!
We can't thank you enough for making it in the evening to be a part of our designer meet-up! Your dedication to connecting with fellow creatives and sharing your knowledge is genuinely commendable. The evening was truly incredible, brimming with engaging conversations, insights, and inspiration. As we continue hosting more of these delightful dinners, we'll make sure to keep refining the experience for everyone.
During the event, we had the opportunity to delve into the concept of designer superpowers. We explored various qualities such as randomness, the ability to switch context and curiosity, a great taste in aesthetics, good judgment, visualization, intuition, the willingness to unlearn and learn, and comfort with uncertainty. It was fascinating to hear your perspectives on these traits and how they contribute to your work as designers.
One thought-provoking question that arose during our conversations was: "What would you work for if not money?" Many of you expressed a strong desire to help and inspire people, to continuously expand your knowledge and understanding, to seek motivation from an inspiring team or individuals. It was truly inspiring to witness such passion and dedication among the attendees.
We also engaged in a discussion on the B2B (Business-to-Business) versus B2C (Business-to-Consumer) industries for designers. We recognized that while B2C projects often involve numerous opinions and a relatability factor, B2B projects pose their own set of challenges with multiple constraints and higher complexity. Additionally, we emphasized the importance of striking a balance between theory and practicality in the design process.
Another intriguing topic that arose during the meet was the impact of AI on creativity and the rise of AI artists. We explored how AI indirectly influences plagiarism and discussed the significance of being human in an age dominated by artificial intelligence. We acknowledged that "Artificial" is the keyword in AI, and being human can be a powerful differentiator. We emphasized the importance of getting inspired while maintaining integrity and avoiding blatant copying.
Once again, we would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for attending the Wolffkraft's Extended Pack Collective diner meet. Your presence, insights, and enthusiasm made the event a resounding success. We look forward to organizing many more inspiring sessions in the future.
"Where creativity converges, innovation flourishes. Together, let's design a world that inspires."
